About the Show

The Importance of Being Earnest is a beloved classic that has been performed and studied for generations. It is celebrated for its wit, humor, and satirical take on late Victorian manners. The play follows the lives of two bachelors, Jack Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff, who adopt the names Ernest and Bunbury to escape societal duties and pursue romance. The play’s exploration of mistaken identities and the significance of the name “Ernest” leads to hilarious chaos and surprising revelations about their true parentage. It is a testament to Wilde’s skill as a playwright and a timeless piece that continues to entertain and provoke thought.
